*Remington Arms Danish Model 1867 11.7 x 42R rifle

Description

s/n 48182, brl length 35.5", very good condition, rolling block. The rifle has been converted to centerfire and chambered for the Danish 11.7x42R cartridge with a tang that is marked "KJOBENHAVN TOIHUUS 1875". The bore shines mirror bright and shows very nice rifling. The left side of the receiver is marked with a crown proof over "M-1867" and shows some traces of case coloring. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked with the serial number followed by a crown proof. There are also crown proofs located on the hammer, block, front and rear barrel bands as well as the butt plate. The underside of the straight grip butt stock is stamped, serial numbered to the rifle and the wood stands proud to the metal in most areas. Shows assorted light military wear. The front sight is fixed with a right side mounted bayonet mount and the rear sight has been removed and replaced with a Williams peep sight. The blued metal finish shows a light brown and silver mottled patina in some areas with little overall wear from handling present. Rifle has a steel cleaning rod present.
